A constituent wrote to ask if I could confirm a news item on the BBC suggesting that the House of Commons is being asked to introduce ‘positive’ discrimination in the workplace, to ensure that
minority groups obtain key jobs.
I replied: “In future, as an employer, you will be expected to give preference not to the best candidate for a job but to a black homosexual female dwarf who is a rehabilitated drug addict in a wheelchair
“No, I am not entirely kidding.
“Blame the lunatics who elected our current government.”
