My first day in Brussels as a newly elected MEP was not helped by Michael Gove’s clinical dissection of the EU constitution (Comment, June 21).
Even more chilling, however, is the phrase I have already heard being used here by bureaucrats anticipating its adoption: “the post-democratic era�.

Michael Howard should beware of the epithet ‘Little Englanders’ when criticising his opponents. His party took us into the EU, signed three of the five treaties, and at Maastricht agreed that the UK should be divided into 12 regions.
